Nappanee Currently Under Boil Order
The city of Nappanee experienced a malfunction at its water treatment facility this morning around 7:30 a.m., according to Mayor Larry Thompson.
Water Utility personnel are currently investigating the cause of this malfunction. Water pressure is currently being restored to the city.
Because of the loss of water pressure system wide, it is necessary to issue a citywide boil order.
In the mean time, utility customers are asked to boil all water used for human consumption prior to use. The Water Utility will notify all customer when the boil order is lifted.
Water levels in the utilities elevated storage tanks are being restored at this time. Fire protection has not been compromised.
According to Elkhart County Dispatch, there is currently no timeframe for when the boil order will come to a close.
