Maynard C. Zimmerman
Maynard C. Zimmerman, 90, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 7 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013.
He was born on March 26, 1923, in Elkhart County, Ind., to Eli N. and Lydia (Wenger) Zimmerman. On March 24, 1946, in Goshen, Ind., he married Catharine Louise Witmer. God blessed their home with nine sons and one daughter.
Maynard accepted Christ as his savior early in life and was a faithful member of the Wisler Mennonite Church all his life. He was a retired farmer and also retired from Nappanee Milling Company after working there for 20 years.
He is survived by his daughter: Wanda Nolt, of Wakarusa, Ind.; eight sons: Dennis, Goshen, Ind.; Paul, Decker, Mich.; Raymond, Snover, Mich.; Glen, Nappanee, Ind.; James, Howe, Ind.; Carlton, Brooten, Minn.; Arden, Nappanee; and Walter of Loudonville, Ohio; daughter-in-laws: Reba Zimmerman, Decker; and Lydia Zimmerman, Middlebury; 50 grandchildren; and 78 great-grandchildren.
He was prececded in death by his wife; parents; a son: Weldon; brothers: John, Pharis and Edwin Zimmerman; sister: Annetta Good; two grandsons: Rodney Alan Zimmerman; Bart Leroy Zimmerman; and a great-granddaughter: Rosanne Faith Shaum.
Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Ramer Mennonite Youth Center. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Home Ministry of the Church will officiate and burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Thompson Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
