Spend An Evening With Native American Storytelling
Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church invites the community to an evening of Native American storytelling at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
Fred Neeake Shaw, acclaimed historian, author and storyteller, will share traditional tribal tales and history. Fred’s Shawnee name, Neeake, means “He Talks as He Flies” when translated into English.
He is a noted expert in Shawnee culture, 18th and 19th century U.S. history and Native American spiritualities. Fred is also an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and served 41 years as pastor in the West Ohio Conference before retiring.
Light refreshments will be served and a free-will offering will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit the Native American Comprehensive Plan, a ministry of the United Methodist Church. Pleasant Grove Church is located at 2943 E. 400 S., Warsaw.
