Trojans Topple Trojans
FRANCESVILLE – West Central wasted no time Friday night in sidelining Triton from the postseason.
The host Trojans led 22-0 after the opening quarter en route to a 66-6 win in a Class 1-A sectional opener.
West Central, now 7-3, advances to play at Culver next Friday night. Culver topped South Central 36-33 Friday night. West Central posted an 18-6 win at Culver in week one.
The hosts led 48-0 at halftime Friday night in downing Triton. West Central piled up 529 yards rushing in the victory.
Josie Farmwald had the lone score for Triton as he returned a fumble five yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Felciano Villarreal had four touchdowns for West Central. He scored on runs of one, two and two yards and returned an interception 54 yards.
Parker Fritz and Dylan Ingram each had three touchdowns for the winners. Fritz scored on runs of 80 and nine yards and on a 61-yard touchdown reception. Ingram scored on runs of three, 33 and 49 yards.
Triton, after defeating Caston in the season opener, lost its’ final nine games on the field. The Trojans were awarded a forfeit win over NSC foe Glenn.
