Students Seek Info On Vietnam Casualty
Since 1986, the students of Lake Central High School in St. John, Ind., have been researching the men and women from Indiana who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. Today, the students are hoping the people of Kosciusko County can help him learn more about a Claypool native.
Andrew Voss is among the researchers for World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Memorials located in downtown Indianapolis. “Of the 1, 621 Vietnam casualties, we have located over 890 families as of the date of this entry,” he said. “We are seeking any and all help in locating any pictures or information of La Moine Eugene Grow, his family or his friends.”
The only information currently known about Grow is that he went to Claypool High School and graduated in 1964. He was married to Janet B. Grow who lived in Winona Lake. Grow was a casualty of the Vietnam War on Nov. 16, 1966, and received the Bronze Star Medal.
Anyone with information or photos of La Moine Eugene Grow is asked to send it to Lake Central High School, C/O Mr. Thomas Clark in the History Department, 8400 Wicker Ave., St. John, IN 46373.
