Clarence Hatcher
Clarence Hatcher, 85, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Oct. 20, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw, Ind.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1928, in Sevierville, Tenn., to Ruben Hatcher and Mary ‘Shepherd’ Hatcher. On Oct. 6, 1946, he was married to Sinia Faye Hatcher who passed away on Dec. 15, 2010.
He had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., since 1965. As a young boy at the age of 13-years old he worked in the coal mines in West Virginia and Tennessee; he had also worked for a number of years at Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Mich.; Clausing Lathes in Warsaw; and he retired in 1990 from Sea Nymph, Inc. in Syracuse, Ind. Clarence was a member of Living Hope Ministries of Warsaw, loved to play Wii-Bowling and enjoyed outdoor activities.
He is survived by four daughters: Jean E. Sturgill, Warsaw; Jacqueline Hatcher, Leesburg, Ind.; Kathleen (Gary) Kilbourne, Pierceton, Ind.; Vicki (Curtis) Holle, Bloomington, Ind.; six sons: Darrell Hatcher, Leesburg; Larry (Connie) Hatcher, Pierceton; James (Ann) Hatcher, Leesburg; Rick (Ginny) Hatcher, Warsaw; Nick (Connie J.) Hatcher, Warsaw; Steven Timothy Hatcher, Columbia City, Ind.; 43 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two brothers: Nick (Mary Alice) Hatcher, Florida; George (Betty) Hatcher, Leesburg; and two sisters: Linda Cardwell, Tennessee; Betty Berkey, Winona Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Living Hope Ministries, 595 E. 350 N., Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Living Hope Ministries, and will be officiated by Pastor Wedstel Shepherd. Burial will follow at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, Ind.
