Syracuse Public Library Announcements
Stop by the Syracuse Library on Halloween for an extravaganza of Dr. Seuss inspired fun. The staff has streamlined the event to eliminate waiting to get into the library during trick-or-treat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Even if it is cold, or rainy, plan to walk through a maze of “fandubulous” characters.
Dr. Seuss published over 60 books, and so, there are many more characters than can be presented in one night. Join the library when we pull some of his creations out of his books.
The children’s department will be closed on Oct. 31. However, the adult department will stay open for the normal hours of 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Circulation services will be offered by the adult services staff all day Thursday. Operations are back to usual on Friday.
Book Buddies Are Back
The Early Childhood Alliance is sponsoring another round of Book Buddies. Book Buddies is a series of programs that demonstrate age appropriate activities to adults of young children. Parents and children, whose ages are from 18 months to 5 years, are invited to experience the fun of learning. Families receive free books and learning materials at each session. The Syracuse Public Library is offering Book Buddies on Nov. 7 and 14, and at 1 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 12.
The staff of the library welcomes questions and comments during business hours: from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. People who possess an Evergreen library card are welcome to check-out materials at any library in the Evergreen system. Reach the Syracuse Library at 574-457-3022.
