M. Pearl Avalos
M. Pearl Avalos, 87, of Milford, Ind., passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Avalon Village in Ligonier, Ind.
She was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Saint Joe, Ariz., to Charlie and Maudie (Bagley) Baker.
Pearl has been an area resident since 1952 and attended the Milford United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was missionary for the Spanish for 35 years. She enjoyed gardening, being outside, sewing and spending time with family. She was a good listener and was always there for them. She will be dearly missed.
Pearl is survived by five children: Peggy Glant, Leesburg, Ind.; Georgia (Steve) Finton, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Mary (Cletus) England, Milford; Rex Westerman, Marion, Ind.; and Sandy (Buddy) Greer, Milford,; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; a brother: Merl Baker, Kansas; and a sister: Mary Peyton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Ricky Westerman; three brothers; and three grandchildren.
Burial with graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21, at Concord Cemetery next to Grace Church on Rookstool Road in Syracuse, Ind. Pastor Floyd Farber will officiate. Mishler Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
