YMCA Gymnasts Open Season
WARSAW – The YMCA’s Kosco Kippers Gymnastics Team kicked off their competitive season recently with a pair of meets.
The Level 3 Team placed third with a 105.375 and the Level 5 Team placed second with a 100.10 in a home meet Oct. 5.
In the Level 3 age group competition, Emma Skipper, 7, placed fourth on Vault with a 8.05, second on Beam with a 8.525, fifth on Floor with a 8.425 and fifth in the all-around with a 32.10; Erika Bugg, 8, placed fourth on Vault with a 9.025, seventh on Bars with a 8.40 and seventh in the all-around with a 33.125; Allison Heinrich, 10, placed fourth on Vault with a 9.175, fourth on Floor with a 9.20 and fourth in the all-around with a 34.10; Mayci Schlicthter, 10, placed tenth on Vault with a 8.80, ninth on Bars with a 8.40, tenth on Beam with a 8.45 and eleventh in the all-around with a 33.50; Kayla Reynolds, 11, placed first on the Vault with a 8.95, fourth on the Bars with a 8.05, fifth on the Beam with a 8.60 and seventh in the all-around with a 33.15; Emyrn Williams, 11, placed fourth on Vault with a 8.60, second on the Beam with a 8.775 and sixth in the all-around with a 33.225; Megan Metzger, 12, placed second on Vault with a 8.80, second on the Bars with a 8.275, fourth on the Floor with a 8.60 and second in the all-around with a 34.075.
Level 5 age group individual results: Aundreya Wegener, 11, placed third on the Vault with a 8.40 and fourth in the all-around with a 31.475; Alyssa Minnix, 12, placed first on Vault with a 8.90, first on the Bars with a 8.025, first on the Beam with a 8.925 and first in the all-around with a 35.00.
Level 6 age group individual results: Remi Beckham, 12, placed first in the Vault with a 9.10, placed first in the Bars with a 8.30, placed first in the Beam with a 8.65, placed first on the Floor with a 9.00 and first in the all-around with a 35.05.
Xcel age group individual results: Anna Wainscott, 13, placed second on the bars with a 7.50 and second in the all-around with a 32.55.
The Kosco Kippers were back in action on Oct. 12 at Indiana Elite Gymnastics in Hobart. The Level 3 Team placed third with a 99.60 and the Level 5 Team placed second with a 93.30.
Level 3 age group individual results: Erika Bugg, 8, placed third on Vault with a 9.15 and sixth in the all-around with a 32.65; Allison Heinrich, 10, placed third on Vault with a 9.20, fourth on the Bars with a 7.40, fifth on the Beam with a 8.425, fifth on Floor with a 8.25 and fifth in the all around with a 33.275; Kayla Reynolds, 11, placed second on Vault with a 9.10, second on Bars with a 8.00, second on Beam with a 8.625, fifth on Floor with a 7.90 and first in the all-around with a 33.625.
Level 5 age group individual results: Alyssa Minnix, 12, placed fourth on Vault with a 8.80, third on Bars with a 7.85, third on Beam with a 8.20, third on Floor with a 8.50 and third in the all-around with a 33.35.
Level 6 age group individual results: Remi Beckham, 12, placed second on the Vault with a 8.95, first on the Beam with a 9.10, second on the floor with a 8.825 and third in the all-around with a 34.80.
Xcel age group individual results: Anna Wainscott, 13, placed first in the all-around with a 31.45.
The Kosco Kippers will be competing again on Oct. 26 in Marion. The Y’s Kosco Kippers gymnastics program is one of the Y’s many youth development programs that help youth discover who they are and what they can achieve while building athletic, social and interpersonal skills.
