Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, Oct. 13, 6:48 p.m. East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brittany L. Williams, 19, Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver swerved to avoid children and hit a parked car. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, Oct. 13, 3:09 p.m. SR 15 near 600 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Debbie L. Jones, 45, Leigh Drive, Warsaw; and Paul E. Adams, 37, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Jones pulled into Adams’ path causing a collision. Damages: up to $25,000
Sunday, Oct. 13, 1:29 p.m. Higbee Street near Emeline Street, Milford. Drivers: Kenneth E. Nicolai, 16, CR 52, Syracuse; and Robert P. Kyle, 66, Cobus Ridge Lane, Granger. Nicolai pulled out in front of Kyle resulting in a collision. Damages: up to $5,000
Sunday, Oct. 13, 12:06 p.m. Old Road 30 near 325 East, Warsaw. Drivers: Jonathan A. Martin, 39, EMS W23 C Lane, North Webster; and Amanda R. Noll, 23. Highpoint Drive, Albion. Martin rear-ended Noll. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, Oct. 13, 9:42 a.m. Graceland Avenue near Harrison Street, Claypool. Drivers: Miguel A. Chapa, 19, Barron Avenue, Memphis, Tenn.; and Douglas C. Page, 44, 500 South, Claypool. Chapa pulled out in front of Page resulting in a collision. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, Oct. 12, 2:20 p.m. 900 North near SR 19, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeffery U. Mast, 22, 1000 West, Nappanee; and Trent L. Hershberger, 46, 1000 West, Nappanee. Mast attempted to pass a horse-drawn buggy and collided with Hershberger. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Oct. 11, 10:30 p.m. SR 14 near Bouse Drive, Silver Lake. Driver: Judy C. Bailey, 54, 925 West, Akron. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $2,500.
Friday, Oct. 11, 9:11 p.m. 7000 block of SR 15, Claypool. Drivers: Robert S. Hite, 48, 725 West, Winamac; and Ronald D. Wiley, 74, SR 16, Urbana. The rear of Hite’s vehicle collided with the front end of Wiley’s vehicle. Incident occurred in a parking lot. Both drivers were in semi-trailers. Damages: up to $5,000.
Friday, Oct. 11, 12:15 p.m. 1000 North near SR 13, Syracuse. Drivers: Eric A. Stover, 44, Deerfield Drive, Goshen; and Margaret E. Walls, 72, Lung Lane, Syracuse. Stover rear-ended Walls. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Oct. 11, 12:09 p.m. Forest Drive near Walnut Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Merita K. Wieser, 58, First Street, Pierceton. Wieser backed into a signpost. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Oct. 11, 5:30 a.m. 225 North near 875 West, Warsaw. Driver: William R. Elliott, 44, 225 North, Etna Green. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Syracuse Police Department
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Friday, Oct. 11, 4:33 p.m. South Huntington Street near Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Britni N. Hurd, 21, Catherine Street, Milford; and Kari K. Olinger, 45, Parkway Drive, Syracuse. Hurd’s rear driver side tire fell off as she was driving south on Huntington Street. The tire bounced into Olinger’s car causing damage. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Oct. 11, 1:35 p.m. 500 East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Marty L. Meyer, 61, Harkless Drive, Syracuse. Meyer backed into a parked car. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Oct. 11, 4:35 a.m. Main Street near Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Carrie A. Liston, 18, Parkway Drive, Syracuse; and James W. Allegret, 64, Hiawatha Drive, Syracuse. Liston turned in front of Allegret causing a collision. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Friday, Oct. 11, 11:52 a.m. Detroit Street near Prairie Street, Warsaw. Driver: Rebecca S. Boocher, 67, Wooster Road, Pierceton. Witness reports seeing Boocher turn south on Detroit Street and accelerate quickly. Boocher’s vehicle left the roadway and traveled through several yards along the 500 block of Detroit Street without slowing down. The vehicle eventually returned to the roadway where Boocher collided head on with a utility pole without braking. Boocher was hospitalized after the incident. Damages: up to $10,000
