Rachel J. Troyer, 40, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 8:31 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at her brother’s home of natural causes. She had been mentally and physically handicapped since birth.
Rachel was born on Aug. 5, 1973, in Nappanee, Ind., to John C. and Mahala (Schmucker) Troyer. She had attended the Cardinal Center and the Horizon Center, both in Elkhart, Ind. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by her parents; four brothers: Aaron Troyer, Nappanee; Delbert (Lorene) Troyer, Nappanee; Norman Troyer, Goshen, Ind.; and Marion Troyer, Nappanee; four sisters: Ruth (Duane) Bontrager, Milford, Ind.; Erma (Marvin) Borkholder, Bremen, Ind.; Sharon (William) Bontrager, Nappanee; and Lena (Merle) Yoder, Milford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a nephew.
Visitation will take place after 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, and all day Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the family home. The Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Lavern Yoder Residence, Nappanee. Home Ministries will officiate. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
