I want to share both some exciting news with as well as some principles to help in your life, career and business today. Over the next six weeks I will be speaking at and conducting several workshops locally and overseas.
I will be conducting two ‘Ignite’ workshops locally. The Ignite workshop is both a career and entrepreneur workshop to be bring clarity, direction, purpose and practical ‘how to’ information. On Oct. 26 I will be in Winona Lake at the Russell Center and then Nov. 16 at Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen.
Sandwiched in between these two workshops I will be in the Ukraine and France conducting entrepreneur training to those looking to fulfill their purpose in business. I will also have the pleasure of speaking to a 3,000-member church while in France about “Your Best Is Yet To Come.”
As I said, I want to accomplish two things in today’s article. Did I want you, my readers, to know about the two local live workshops? Absolutely! I will be sharing information on finding the career that fits your skills, personality and passions. I will also discuss resumes, interviews, life plan, business plan, marketing strategies, sales and more.
The second purpose of sharing this information is to help you in your own career or business. There are two principles I have used during this process and I believe they will help you.
Take the first step. I recently spoke for two days at Westville State Prison here in Indiana. I asked the men, “How do you eat and elephant?” The answer – one bite a time. You have to take the first step, or the first bite, in order to move down the road towards your goal. You may have to complete a resume, make some phone calls, or even knock on some doors, but you have to take the first step. Even if you have fear, you must take the first step.
For most of the events I will be speaking at, I had at least a working relationship with all involved. However, I still presented an idea. Actually, I presented a solution to a problem and therefore these events are happening. They would not have happened unless I took the first step.
Follow through. After you take the first step you need to follow through by putting one foot in front of the other. When you say you are going to do something, do it. This is not just if you promise something to someone else, but follow through on the promises to yourself. If you say you want to increase sales in your business then do the steps you know it takes to make that happen.
I will be speaking at four different events in 45 days. This requires constant contact with all concerned. I must stay on track with all the details and communication. What I cannot do, and you cannot do, is once something has started in motion is to leave it alone. Once it is moving, you need to keep it moving – follow through.
Only you really know your current situation inside and out and what changes you need to make. Let me ask you two questions. What’s your first step? What can you do to follow through?
By the way, if you are interested in more details about the local workshops, please check out my website at www.lifequestcoaching.net. I would love to meet you and see you there.
