Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, Oct. 7, 7:30 a.m. SR 19 near 100 South, Etna Green. Driver: Aaron D. Walters, 37, 10th Street, Rochester. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Monday, Oct. 7, 4:34 a.m. East 500 near EMS T7 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Maurice W. Hollis, 46, High Street, Syracuse. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, Oct. 5, 7:06 a.m. 450 West near 625 South, Claypool. Driver: Michael A. Rice, 55, Williamson Drive, Warsaw. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, Oct. 4, 5:10 p.m. 350 West near Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Warren A. Lampkin, 17, Maple Run, Warsaw. Driver swerved to avoid hitting an animal and struck a NIPSCO power pole and caused property damage. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Oct. 4, 4:47 p.m. US 30 near SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Amanda L. Mendenhall, 38, Wandering Way, Fort Wayne. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, Oct. 4, 3:06 p.m. 100 East near 300 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Rusty W. Carlson, 20, River Ave., Warsaw; Jacqueline D. Ferguson, 17, 600 North, Warsaw. Carlson rear-ended Ferguson. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Oct. 4, 6:57 a.m. Adams Road near EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton. Driver: Cruz Cordero, 39, Market Street, Pierceton. Driver lost control of his vehicle and slid off the road. Damages: $2,500
Friday, Oct. 4, 6:55 a.m. 2801 Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Joseph M. Dominguez, 29, Filbert Road, Bourbon. Driver was leaving parking lot, fainted and struck a parked minivan. Damages: up to $1,000
Friday, Oct. 4, 5:25 a.m. Summy Road near 500 West, Etna Green. Driver: Sheila R. Helmuth, 18, SR 19, Etna Green. Helmuth missed a turn and ran off the road. Damages: up to $5,000
Syracuse Police Department
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Friday, Oct. 4, 2:41 a.m. 203 South Huntington Street, Syracuse. Driver: Jordan Schultz, 23, Oak Glen Drive, Warsaw. Schultz struck guide wire on NIPSCO pole, snapping it in half. Damages: up to $5,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, Oct. 5, 10:53 p.m. 2501 Walton Blvd, Warsaw. Drivers: Stephanie A. Hohman, 23, 100 South 17, Warsaw; Daryl C. Wright, 18, Scott Road, Claypool. Hohman backed into Wright. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, Oct. 5, 6:07 p.m. Detroit Street near 250 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Matthew R. Kovar, 20, Ranch Road, Warsaw; and Patricia A. Haniford, 70, Old SR 15, Warsaw; and Dylan C. Miller, 19, Lotz Lane, Silver Lake. Kovar rear-ended Haniford causing her car to collide with Miller’s vehicle. Kovar was ticketed for driver on a suspended license. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, Oct. 5, 11:21 a.m. 3589 Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Adam W. Baker, 34, Cedar Lake Drive, Fort Wayne; and Kathleen J. Parsons, 62, EMS C28A Lane, Warsaw. Baker pulled out in front of Parsons causing a collision. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, Oct. 4, 10:17 p.m. Buffalo Street near Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Keith E. Vanfleeren, 56, Oakwood Drive, Cromwell; and Lynn M. Desjardins, 46, Springfield Drive, Warsaw. Vanfleeren ran a red light and struck Desjardins. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, Oct. 4, 3:30 p.m. Lake City Highway near Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Jon Dobbelaere, 30, Johnson Road, Paulding, Ohio; and Teresa A. Croussore, 45, West Point Drive, Warsaw. Dobbelaere rear-ended Croussore. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, Oct. 4, 12:04 p.m. Buffalo St. near Winona Ave, Warsaw. Drivers: Julia Fugate, 32, Scott Street, Warsaw; and John D. Vanlue, 58, Northshore Drive, Syracuse. Fugate rear-ended Vanlue. Damages: up to $2,500
Winona Lake Police Department
Officers of the Winona Lake Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Saturday, Oct. 5, 10:50 p.m. Publishers Drive near Kings Highway, Winona Lake. Driver: Kristen H. Taylor, 21, Hawthorne Court, Winona Lake. Taylor looked away from the road and veered right, striking a utility pole. Driver’s head struck windshield. She was transported to hospital by her mother. Damages: up to $5,000
