Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, Sept. 30, 8:27 p.m. East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Amber Weems, 24, East Jackson Street, Parker City. Weems was eastbound on Levi Lee Road when she struck a dog. The dog ran from the accident and Weems requested medical attention for neck pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. The dog returned home to his owner, Ronnie Poe. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 3:19 a.m. 1695 W. Lake St. Drivers: William Piechota, 31, South Packerton Road, Warsaw; Carlie R. Pippenger, North 500 West, Milford. Pippenger called to report that her parked car had been struck at Wilby’s. She reported a description of the vehicle and it was determined Piechota had struck the vehicle after speaking with a witness. Officers were able to located Piechota and administered a alcohol breath test after Piechota claimed to not have remembered hitting Pippenger’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Monday, Sept. 30, 12:30 p.m. South Buffalo Street. Drivers: Cody M. Bixler, 17, Rivercrest Drive, Warsaw; Allison Fisher, 29, Leighton Court, Carmel. Bixler stated he looked away from the road at protesters along the side of the street when he rear ended Fisher who had stopped in front of him to turn. Damages: up to $5,000
Monday, Sept. 30, 9:27 a.m. East Fort Wayne and North Detroit Streets. Drivers: Rhonda Wirebaugh, 44, Sheridan Street, Warsaw; and Dortha Newman, 53, East 4th Street, Rochester. Both Newman, who was driving a KABS bus, and Wirebaugh, who was driving a Buick Rendezvous believed they had the green light. As both drivers proceeded through the intersection, Newman to the south and Wirebaugh to the west, they collided with each other. No witnesses were present to clarify who had the right of way. Newman and her two passengers, Mary Purdy and Cory Schanbacher all complained of injuries. Purdy complained of pain to her eye, Schanbacher complained of pain to his chest, neck and back and Newman complained of pain to her chest, neck and back, Wirebaugh also complained of pain to her chest, neck and back. No one was transported by medics. Damages: up to $2,500
