Lee ‘Gene’ Mock
Lee ‘Gene’ Mock, 85, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, Ind.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1927, in Pierceton, Ind. to Otto and Irene (Plew) Mock. He was a lifetime North Webster/Syracuse area resident and attended North Webster High School.
He was a United States Navy Veteran and on June 2, 1947, in Elizabeth City, N.C., he married Edna “Marie” Bennett, who survives.
He was a farmer and retired in 1990 from Coachman RV in Middlebury, Ind., after 12 years of service. He formerly worked at Regent Homes in Syracuse.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #418 F&AM in Milford, Ind.; Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne, Ind.; the National Rifle Association, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and VFW. in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife: Marie Mock, Syracuse; a son: Gary L. Mock, Syracuse; a granddaughter: Valerie (Paul) Clingerman, Vincennes, Ind.; and a brother: Roger (Sarah) Mock, Shreveport, La.
He was preceded by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with Chaplain for the American Legion officiating. Military services will be performed by the North Webster American Legion and Syracuse VFW.
