Child Molesting Nets Prison Time
A 33-year-old Warsaw man arrested in April by Warsaw Police was sentenced to 6 years in prison for admittedly molesting a victim less than 14 years old. Shannon Lee Webb will likely spend less than 2 years behind bars.
Webb was initially arrested on two Class A felony charges of child molesting after an investigation found evidence on a cell phone of an “inappropriate relationship” between a minor female and Webb. The girl’s mother found a photo that Webb sent of male genitalia, and also found semi-nude photos that the girl had sent of herself to Webb.
Texts found on her phone, that was taken into evidence, indicated Webb had intercourse with the girl.
When Webb was questioned by police, he admitted to performing oral sex on the victim and to having intercourse with her at Center Lake Park. Webb also admitted he did have concerns that the girl may have been younger than she said.
In a plea agreement, Webb admitted to a less offense of child molesting as a Class B felony and the second Class A charge was dismissed. He was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court I Thursday to 6 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, but 2 years were suspended. Webb will also have to register as a sex offender.
