Magical Meadows Debuts New Facility
Magical Meadows, a therapeutic horseback riding center for children and adults with special needs, held a ribbon cutting ceremony as well as a Business After Hours open house Wednesday at its new location at 3386 E. 525 N., Warsaw.
The event featured tours of the new activity center and indoor riding arena, rider demonstrations, food and beverages. Guests were also treated to a impromptu fundraiser in which guests could donate money to Magical Meadows to see Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer saddle up and take a turn around the outdoor riding arena.
Though the majority of the structural construction has been completed, Magical Meadows is still working toward bettering the facilities. According to volunteer Samantha Payton, the non-profit agency is currently working toward finishing many interior jobs including the creation of stalls for horses within the indoor arena and a library for guests to the establishment.
Payton explained that the library would allow numerous opportunities to both riders and their families as many individuals who have special needs may not be able to maintain the silence necessitated by other libraries. Payton said computers will be available for use at the library as well after a donation of the equipment from a local business. These computers will be installed once renovations are complete.
Magical Meadows will be featuring a community open house event and horse show on Sunday, Oct. 13, at the new building. Doors will open at 2 p.m. with the horse show beginning at 4 p.m. In addition, Magical Meadows will also be hosting a pizza fundraiser on Oct. 7 at Pizza Hut located on Detroit Street in Warsaw.
As focus begins to shift away from major construction projects, Magical Meadows will once again be seeking volunteers to fuel the almost entirely volunteer run program. Should you be interested in donating to the establishment to help int he completion of construction requirements or becoming a volunteer, please contact founder Tammy Stackhouse at 574-265-3085.
