Young Adult Readers have a Bumper Crop of Books
The Syracuse Library has received extra books and CD books that are waiting for the young people who come to the Young Adult New-book Club. Young adults are invited to come make individual pizzas and look at the new books on from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 1.
The sequel to the Raven Boys is out as is a new mystery series, Lockwood and Company. People who are tired of vampire books can look ahead to some really well written dystopian novels and stories with ghosts and specters. Junior Library Guild selects stories about teen characters that deal with a variety of social issues and we have some of those also. All of the authors of the new books are excellent writers and teens are encouraged to come share some of their favorite authors and look at new books.
Story Times Start Soon
Fall story times begin the first full week in October. Parents and grandparents will want to put Oct. 7 and 8 on their calendars as the beginning dates to bring their preschoolers in for an hour of pre-reading activities.
The Monday and Tuesday sessions are each different. Gisela Vore and Esther DeJulia have planned many fun projects. Please come to the Syracuse Library early to be ready for the all the activities that begin at 10:30 a.m. Vore and DeJulia are excited to share many games, projects and stories with children and adults.
