Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, 4:37 p.m. South Lakeside Drive, Syracuse. Police were called to investigate a boat crash at a pier. Renee Riecke, 54, Fort Wayne, was trying to take her boat out of the water when the wind blew it off course causing it to collide with another boat docked nearby. The other boat is registered to Adam K. Reeser, Fort Wayne. Damages: up to $200
Sunday, 12:34 a.m. South Huntington Street, south of East Bowser Road. Drivers: Zachary E. Reiff, 17, North Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse; and Breanna Hullinger, 17, North SR 13, North Webster. Reiff’s vehicle struck the back of the Hullinger vehicle. Reiff, Hullinger and a passenger in Hullinger’s vehicle, Casey L. Anderson, 15, North CR 700 East, Leesburg, were examined at the scene by paramedics but parents declined further medical treatment at the scene. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, 3:51 p.m. South Huntington Street, north of East Bayview Drive. Drivers: Wayne O. Schrock, 63, CR 42, Millersburg; and Steven D. Lerch, 32, North CR 700 East, Leesburg. Schrock drove his vehicle into the southbound lane to go around Lerch’s vehicle as he thought Lerch was turning his vehicle right, instead he turned his vehicle left. Lerch refused treatment at the scene. Damages up to $5,000
Tuesday, Sept. 17, 10:26 a.m. South Huntington Street, south of East Pickwick Drive. Drivers: Larry L. Line, 70, Marine Key Drive, Syracuse; and Robert L. Williams, 84, North Webster. Line’s vehicle collided with Williams’ vehicle as Williams was turning off South Huntington Street onto East Pickwick Drive. Line’s vision was blocked by a stopped vehicle on East Pickwick. Damages: up to $2,500
Wednesday, Sept. 11, 3:25 p.m. South Huntington Street, south of East Pickwick Drive. Drivers: Shawnta M. Wells, 39, North CR 350 East, Columbia City; and Brandi D. Chilcutt, 27, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Wells’ vehicle struck the back of the Chilcutt vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently made the following arrests
Monday, 12:50 a.m. Matthew A. McCloud, 34, South Forest Lane, Syracuse, arrested for battery and intimidation. Bond: $2,000. Police were called to the Forest Lane residence after Dominique C. Mounsey reported a threat of life by a knife. Police went to the residence and learned McCloud became irate with Mounsey while at an establishment in Syracuse. She left and when he returned to the residence began yelling again, grabbed the telephone from her and called his father stating if he didn’t come and get him, he would kill her and himself. He also allegedly shoved her against a wall and in another instance grabbed her arm and told her he would kill her with a knife.
Sunday, 8:50 p.m. Mark Gaff, 42, Kendallville, was arrested for trespassing. Bond: $300. Police were called to a North Hillside Drive residence for an individual who refused to leave.
Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1:37 a.m. Kory S. Myers, 20, Turkey Creek Drive, Milford, charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Bond: $2,000. Myers was apprehended after Ashley Hall, West Wildwood, Syracuse, reported an individual was observed in her unlocked vehicle and she found wedding rings missing. Myers, who matched the description given to police, was located by police at Pickwick Drive and Manor Drive. A diamond wedding ring was found in his pocket and identified by Hall. Another diamond ring and two wedding bands were also found in Myers possession, which Hall also identified as belonging to her.
Tuesday, Sept. 17, 4:11 p.m. Amanda Waggoner, 23, West Pearl Street, Syracuse, charged with driving while suspended. She was stopped on North Dolan Drive, Syracuse. Bond: $300
Tuesday, Sept. 17, 3:36 p.m. Timothy Furney, 18, CR 133, Syracuse, arrested for theft and possession of paraphernalia. Bond: $2,000. Furney allegedly removed four electronic cigarettes from behind the county at Clark Gas Station, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. The cigarettes were valued at $60.
