Miller Leads Warsaw Ladies
NEW CARLISLE – Allison Miller turned in a strong individual performance Saturday to lead the Warsaw girls’ cross country team.
Freshman Miller placed 11th overall in the large school division race at the 46th annual New Prairie Invitational. Miller posted a time of 19:23 in the race.
The Tigers finished in 11th place among 26 teams in their division with a team score of 299. No. 14 Penn won the team title with a score of 93.
Coach Scott Erba’s team notched eight personal-best times and two season-best efforts in the prestigious event.
Brooke Rhodes was 31st overall in a time of 20:21 for the Tigers. Madeline Hooks placed 71st in a time of 21:14, followed by teammates Lauren Orr in 92nd (21:47), Claire Kehler in 94th (21:51), Hannah Thompson in 115th (22:19) and Ellie Bearrs in 132nd (22:52) in the varsity race.
Rhodes and Orr each had personal best times and Kehler had a season best performance.
Charlene Orr was the top runner for the Tigers in the reserve race. She placed 11th overall in a time of 21:33. Emma Lemon was 23rd in the race in a time of 21:58 for Warsaw. Both Orr and Lemon had personal best times Saturday.
Also notching personal best times for Warsaw in the reserve race were Liliana Hernandez (23:01), Courtney Sainer (23:25), Daisie Poe (25:49) and Shyanne McFadden (27:34). Courtney Etchison had a season best time of 25:36.
Warsaw, which boasts a 3-1 conference record, hosts Wawasee in a Northern Lakes Conference meet Tuesday. Action is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at WCHS and it will be Senior Night.
