Plymouth Pounds Memorial
ELKHART – Plymouth kept pace in the Northern Lakes Conference race by pounding Elkhart Memorial 43-6 Saturday night.
The league game was postponed Friday night after a transformer at Memorial was struck by lightning during Thursday’s storms.
The Rockies, who improve to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the NLC, led 29-0 at halftime Saturday.
The trio of Jack Barron, Michael Hartman and Justin Drudge each scored a pair of touchdowns to lead Plymouth to the win.
Tieshawn Johnson scored for Memorial in the fourth quarter. The Crimson Chargers drop to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Concord, the No. 1 team in Class 5-A, leads the NLC at 4-0. Warsaw, Northridge and Plymouth are tied for second at 2-1, with NorthWood and Wawasee at 1-2, Memorial at 1-3 and Goshen at 0-4.
Plymouth plays at Wawasee in NLC action this Friday. Memorial plays at South Bend Clay in a non-conference contest Friday evening.
