On Dec. 6, 1930, he was born in Argos, Ind., to Manford E. and Ethel (Widmeyer) Wood. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw and Pierceton, Ind.
He worked in maintenance for ABC Industries, Warsaw, retiring in 1992 and was formerly a truck driver for Korth Furniture Inc., Warsaw. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid coon hunter, enjoyed visiting with family and friends, having coffee with the boys and was a die-hard I.U. basketball fan.
Floyd is survived by his daughter: Melinda (Steve) Zorn, Warsaw; a son: Michael (Karen) Wood, Warsaw; a grandson: Joseph (Nikkie) Wood, Warsaw; two great-grandsons: Reilley and Brady Wood, Warsaw; and his companion: Sylvia Deeter, Warsaw.
Floyd was the last surviving sibling in a family of sixteen.
No visitation is planned. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Warsaw Community Church with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
