Triton Sports Wrap – Sept. 16
A strong performance from its doubles teams helped Triton best Bremen 4-1 in boys’ tennis action Monday.
The host Trojans lost a total of just five games on the doubles courts in dominating wins to take the Northern State Conference match.
Lucas Shafer and Darrin Harrell paired for a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles for the Trojans. The No. 2 team of Jake Oldham and Austin Sellers won 6-0, 6-1 for Triton.
Triton’s Dean Howdeshell won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Jared Fisher rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles for the Trojans.
Triton improves to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in the NSC. Bremen falls to 8-8 and 2-3.
Triton won the junior varsity competition 3-1.
Triton hosts New Prairie Tuesday and plays at Jimtown Wednesday in a pair of NSC matches.
