Each year, Tippecanoe Valley High School names a Distinguished Alumni Class. Members of the class join a noble group of TVHS graduates who have led successful lives while making substantial contributions to their chosen field of work or have provided outstanding service to their community, state or country.
The Class of 2013 was honored Thursday during a special formal dinner. The inductees are J. Ronald “Ron” Newlin, class of 1976; Chuck Howard, class of 1988; Dr. Marilyn (King) Kindig Stahl, class of 1983; Orville Haney, class of 1998; Brandon Miller, class of 1992; Dr. Cameron Vanlaningham, class of 1998; and Kenia (Ramirez) Rosas, class of 2000.
On Friday morning, each inductee met with four groups of high school students. The inductees shared information about their family, career, personal interests and experiences as a student at TVHS. The inductees were available in the TVHS Commons to speak with individuals and small groups of students during lunch.
Later in the day each was interviewed by the Rochester Telephone Company, with the interviews to be compiled and broadcast at a later date on RTC’s local cable television station, Channel 4.
“We can all be very proud of these TVHS graduates who have gone on to lead successful lives while making substantial contributions to their chosen field of work or have provided outstanding service to their community, state, or country,” said Brett Boggs, superintendent of Tippecanoe Valley Schools.
