Donald David Roeber
Donald David Roeber, 81, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake, Ind.
He was born on May 21, 1932, in Elmhurst, Ill., to Edgar Valentine Roeber and Clara Amanda (Pankow) Roeber. On July 14, 1956, he married R. Louise Ferrell who preceded him in death on March 15, 1992. He married Marilyn (Ibach) Mitchell on July 27, 1996. She survives in Warsaw, Ind.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 20 years where he was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church of Warsaw, Ind. Prior to this he lived in Saukville, Wiscon., for 24 years where he was an active member at Open Door Bible Church. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 on the USS Bataan. He was the founder and owner of Elastomer Sales in Saukville, Wis., which operated from 1973-1992. Donald loved fishing, golfing and the fall colors of Northern Wisconsin. He was active throughout his life in church ministry. His family will remember him as a loving husband and father, and a man of integrity.
He is survived by his son: Randy (Diane) Roeber, Vestal, N.Y.; two daughters: Sherie Beckett, Winona Lake; Julie (Matthew) Rhea, Fishers, Ind.; three step-sons: John (Kim) Mitchell, Troy, Mich.; Reverend James (Brenda) Mitchell, Akron, Ohio; Joel Mitchell, Detroit, Mich.; one step-daughter: Ann (Jeff) Klein, Walled Lake, Mich.; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Dolores Peterson, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, five brothers and four sisters.
There will be visitation an hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw on Saturday. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home, and will be officiated by Pastor Michael Hontz. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Grafton Woodlawn Union Cemetery in Grafton, Wis., and will be officiated by Pastor Sid Litke.
