Of special note, a team from DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction and the men’s group at North Webster United Methodist Church assisted in the completion of a large project in North Webster at the home of Daryl and Bonnie Thomas. The Thomas’ were the recipient of a wheelchair ramp which allowed Mr. Thomas access to his backyard, driveway and to view the pond on his property.
Other teams who assisted in finishing larger projects included volunteers from the North Webster Church of God, Bowen Center, Zimmer and other individuals from DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction. The staff at United Way is grateful to these organizations and volunteers who continued to give of their time and talents to ensure that all projects were completed.
In addition, Custom Rain Control assisted during the Day of Caring by supplying guttering to project sites.
In 2014, Day of Caring activities will be primarily focused in the southern part of Kosciusko County in the communities of Pierceton (south of U.S. 30), Silver Lake, Claypool and Sidney, however, applications for projects will be accepted from all parts of the county.
