Grace Soccer To Get TV Time
WINONA LAKE – The Grace College men’s soccer team will host the nationally broadcasted Game of the Week on Sept. 25 against Indiana Wesleyan at Miller Field.
The contest, part of Tourbeau Sports Group’s National Men’s Soccer Game of the Week broadcast schedule, features Crossroads League rivals Grace and Indiana Wesleyan.
The match, which kicks off at 4 p.m. on the Wednesday afternoon, will be broadcasted live online to a national audience with the coordination of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Admiral Soccer.
“We are excited about this opportunity. It’s a great chance to get national exposure for Grace Soccer and for the school,” said Grace head coach Matt Hotchkin. “Grace versus IWU is always an intense game, and I’m sure this year’s match will get the fans on their feet. We are thankful for the NAIA and Tourbeau Sports Group for the opportunity to put Grace Men’s Soccer as the Game of the Week.”
Last year saw a pair of memorable matches between the Lancers and Wildcats. The teams tied in a bizarre match in the regular season that was called by the official due to heavy fog.
Grace and IWU met up again in the NCCAA regional tournament. The Lancers ended the Wildcats’ season with a 4-1 victory.
