Arson Charge Stems From Nightclub Problem
After being asked to leave a North Webster nightclub for “bad behavior,” a Milford man allegedly tried to set fire to a car in the parking lot.
Ociel Vallejo, 26, was arrested Wednesday and charged with a Class D felony count of arson.
According to a probable cause affidavit provided by the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, Vallejo and other man were asked to leave Stimmelators on June 16. Just minutes after they left, an employee of the business noticed his vehicle was on fire.
Joseph Hagerman ran outside and removed a burning sock that had been soaked with gasoline and stuffed in the gasoline spout. The fire caused damages to the paint and gas tank of the vehicle.
Video surveillance showed Vallejo approach Hagerman’s vehicle and stand there for a short. A construction truck was then seen to approach. The driver of the truck was seen exiting and going around to the passenger side and Vallejo was seen getting in the driver’s seat before the truck drove away.
In a photo lineup of six individuals, Hagerman immediately identified Vallejo as the suspect who was ordered to leave the bar and the same man who was seen on surveillance video.
Vallejo was arrested on the Class D felony charge of arson and a Class A misdemeanor charge. He was being held on $2,000 bond.
