He was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Kosciusko County to Frank and Inez (Roberts) Shively. He owned and operated Colbin Tool in Syracuse, Ind., for many years. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church as well as the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
He is survived by his wife: Millie Shively, Goshen; three daughters: Trudy Shively, Goshen; Sally (James) Whitehead, Syracuse, Ind.; and Linda (Michael) Sheline, Syracuse; a son: Garry Shively, Syracuse; two stepdaughters: Jackie (Marvin) King, Glendale, Ariz.; and Becky (Robert) Johnson, Goshen; five grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.
