Arden J. Harrold
Arden J. Harrold, 79, formerly of Kewanna, Ind., and Akron, Ind., and most recently of Hickory Creek of Rochester, Ind., passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1933, in Mentone, Ind., to Gail E. and Mildred (Kindig) Harrold. Arden was a Mentone High School graduate.
He was a welder, worked on towers and was involved with radio and TV. Arden served his country serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion of Rochester, Indiana. He loved to tell jokes and enjoyed fishing, hunting and CB radios. He was a member of the American Legion of Rochester, Ind.
He is survived by his son: Gary E. (Jane) A. Harrold Kewanna, Ind.; two daughters: Mary (Michael) Mills, Talma, Ind.; Sherri (Marty) Brock, Culver, Ind.; grandchildren: Matthew Harrold; Brittney Thompson; Haley Markley; Elijah Harper; Ashlee Harper; Jori Harrold; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; two sons: Terry Lee; Larry Jay Harrold; and his brother: Merl Harrold.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home, and, by Arden’s request, casual attire is preferred. Minister Pastor Terry Canfield will officiate.
Burial will take place in Akron Cemetery with military graveside rites preformed by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
