Donald Ray Owens
Donald Ray Owens, 57, of Silver Lake, Ind., passed away at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Ind.
On July 6, 1956, he was born in Warsaw, Ind., to Dyrs and Eva (Brown) Owens Sr. Donald was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., where he was a graduate from Warsaw High School. He was united in marriage to Sharon McNeilly on Sept. 15, 2012, in Godley, Ill.
He was employed at Biomet, Warsaw, for the last 6 years. Donald attended Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, Ind. He also was a member of the Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed farming, fishing, horses and kids. He loved to help people and he liked Kentucky.
Donald is survived by his wife; his grandson: Tyler Ray, Silver Lake; his daughter: Tasha Owens, Bristol, Tenn.; two step-daughters: Berneda (Randy) Runkle, Claypool, Ind.; Tonya (Lamont) Rhoades, Columbia City, Ind.; his parents; two brothers: Dan (Jan) Owens, Indianapolis, Ind.; Rick Owens, Warsaw; and his sister: Kathy (Jim) Jackson, North Manchester.
Donald was preceded in death by his first wife: Bernice Owens; his mother: Eva (Brown) Owens; and his brother: Dyrs Owens Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the funeral home, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
