Michael Ray ‘Mike’ Moore
Michael Ray “Mike” Moore, 59, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, from injuries sustained in an accident involving the semi-truck he was driving on I-75 near Dayton, Ohio.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1954, in Warsaw, Ind., to Raymond and Josephine (Nelson) Moore. He was a lifetime North Manchester / Pierceton area resident and graduated in 1972 from Manchester High School in North Manchester.
He was married on Dec. 15, 1972, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Karen Lynn Wall who survives. He was employed as a truck driver for Central Transport for the past 6 years.
He enjoyed horses, mechanics and handyman type things.
Mike is survived by his wife: Karen Moore, Pierceton; two daughters: Brooke (Eric) Beck, Pierceton; and Jessica Moore, Roanoke, Ind.; a son: Travis Michael (Brooke) Moore, Huntington, Ind.; two grandchildren: Haylee Renee and Breanna Ray Moore; his parents: Ray and Josephine Moore, Columbia City, Ind.: a sister: Crystal (Dave) Anderson, Columbia City; and two brothers; Roger (Peg) Moore, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Ed (Pat) Moore, Urbana, Ind.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, Ind. No public funeral services are planned.
Memorial bequest may be given to Ride With Faith Inc., 2180 E. Mowrey Rd., Columbia City, IN 46725. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
