1st Source Donates $5K To Habitat For Humanity
1st Source Bank has donated $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County to assist with the completion of its Women Build project which promotes the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes.
Dennis Hively, 1st Source Warsaw branch president, and Jane Crim, 1st Source Client Services representative, presented the donation to Christon Clark, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County. Also attending the check presentation was Diane Jones, who will live in the newly constructed home.
“1st Source Bank is pleased to make this $5,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity to assist with the completion of the Women Build project,” said Hively. “We’re a strong supporter of Habitat’s efforts to provide more affordable housing in our community and are glad to be involved with this worthwhile project.”
“Habitat is pleased to have 1st Source involved in closing the funding gap for the inaugural Women Build in Kosciusko County,” said Clark. “The $5,000 of support finishes our fundraising effort and allows us to reach our goal of building two homes, one in Kosciusko County and another in El Salvador through our tithe program.”
Habitat for Humanity International officially formed the Women Build department in 1988 to promote the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes. Since its inception 15 years ago, Women Build projects have increased from six to eight a year to more than 200 homes a year. In Kosciusko County’s inaugural Women Build, more than 200 new volunteers contributed to the project.
