Charles L. Jones
Charles L. Jones, 78, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital, Ind. He had been in ill health for 2 years.
He was born Jan. 22, 1935, in South Bend, Ind., to Russell and Alice (Bartz) Jones.
Charles was a graduate of Tyner High School. He served in the United States Army in Germany. On Dec. 26, 1957, he married Anna Jo Dinkeldein at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Bourbon, Ind.
Charles retired from Newmar after working there for 25 years. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Church of God and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed being called Boo by his family. He loved his family and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife: Anna Jo; a daughter: Lorrie (George) Tancos, Granger, Ind.; a son: Jeff (Kelly) Jones, Wakarusa, Ind.; grandchildren: Jordan and Elizabeth Tancos, Camaron and Caleb Jones; sisters: Phyllis Tschupp, Nebraska, Ind.; Marian (Wayne) Zillmer, Bremen, Ind.; Linda Warner, Mishawaka, Ind.; and a brother: Melvin Jones, Plymouth, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Jones.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for 1 hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service at Mt. Tabor Church of God, Thursday, Aug. 29. Rev. Jeremy Grueser will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
