MISHAWAKA – A strong showing by both of its doubles teams enabled the Triton boys tennis team to go 2-1 in the Mishawaka Marian Invitational Saturday.

The Trojans defeated Elkhart Central 4-1 and host Marian 3-2 in the tournament. South Bend Adams edged Triton 3-2.

Triton got undefeated play from both of its doubles  teams on the day.

The duo of Lucas Shafer and Darrin Harrell posted a 3-0 mark at No. 1 doubles for coach Allen Peckham’s squad. The No. 2 team of Jake Oldham and Austin Sellers also won all three of their matches for the Trojans.

Senior Dean Howdeshell posted a 2-1 mark at No. 1 singles for Triton, losing in three sets versus Adams.

Jared Fisher was 1-2 at No. 2 singles on the day for the Trojans. Alex Eib was 0-2 and Spencer Glingle 0-1 at No. 3 singles action.
