Wawasee Golfers Continue To Win
SYRACUSE – Wawasee didn’t flinch in back-to-back home girls golf matches, posting another pair wins Tuesday night at Maxwelton.
Using a quartet of scores under 50, Wawasee held firm against the formidable Mishawaka Marian 190-198, while triangular opponent West Noble posted a 217 to round out play.
A 45 from Elizabeth Jackson led Wawasee, while Mikala Mawhorter was two back at 47, Kylee Rostochak at 48 and Aubrey Schmeltz chipping in a 49. Courtney McDaniel had the fifth score at 51 to complete Wawasee’s varsity tally.
Marian were led by Meghan Sink, who led all golfers with a 44 and had a 47 from Lauren Jankowski, but fell off from there, using a 49 and 58 as its next two scores.
West Noble had a 51 from number five golfer Molly Marsh as its top score.
Madison Beaman led the Wawasee JV with a 49 to help edge Marian 223-238.
Wawasee, now 6-0 on the season, will take to the Northern Lakes Conference circuit as it will travel to Plymouth tomorrow to face the Lady Pilgrims and the Lady Chargers of Elkhart Memorial. Tee time for the Wednesday triangular is 5 p.m. at Plymouth Country Club.
