Ronald G. Shepler
Ronald G. Shepler, 76, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away 7:06 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
Ron was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Warsaw, Ind., to Ralph and Helen L. (Grindle) Shepler. A lifetime Warsaw resident, he attended Warsaw High School. On May 25, 1968, in Freemont, Ind., he and Patricia A. Hatfield were joined in marriage. He was the owner of Shepler Septic Tank Cleaning, Warsaw, for over 35 years and retired in 2010.
Ron was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #49. He loved driving his mack truck and his 1935 Chevy Coupe. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his friends and having coffee at the Cozy Cottage. He especially loved to watch his grandson race his sprint car at Miami County Speedway in Peru, Ind. He attended New Life Christian Church and World Outreach.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years; two sons: Ty Shepler, Warsaw; Bart Shepler, Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters: Brenda (Guy) Ford, Plant City, Fla.; Becky Shepler, Jacksonville, Ind.; four grandchildren: Zachary Shepler, Jordan Shepler, Krista Shepler and Joseph Chambers; four great-grandchildren: Kameran, Kharisma, Shawn and Shealeigh, all at home; sister: Marilyn Faner, Delray Beach, Fla.; and step-sister: Teri Herman, Syracuse, Ind.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Harold R. Shepler.
Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral services will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, in the funeral home. Pastor John B. Lowe, II of New Life Christian Church and World Outreach will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
The family has asked that gifts in memory of Ron be given to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, IN 46581-1196.
