Pauline May Shoemaker
Pauline May Shoemaker, 89, formerly of Mentone, Ind., passed at 9:23 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Mason Health Care of Warsaw, Ind.
Pauline was born May 3, 1924, in Tippecanoe, Ind., to Henry and Edna Iola (Rhinehart) Middaugh. On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Charles Shoemaker who preceded her in death.
She lived in the Burket, Ind., most of her married life. She lived near Camp Campbell where Charles was stationed in the Army. When he went overseas she returned and worked at Kingsberry and Bendix Air Craft. She also worked at Warsaw Coil in Bourbon and retired from Arnolds Corp. after 22 years of service. She loved driving the tractor on their farm and especially picking rocks. She and her husband spent 26 winters in Sebring, Fla.
She is survived by one sister: Mary Louise Wagoner, Plymouth, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers: James Middaugh and Raymond Middaugh, both of Argos, Ind.; and one sister: Helen Briggs.
Visitation will take place 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug, 9, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home. Pastor Denny Bollenbacher will be officiating burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ind.
