Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, Aug. 7, 11:09 a.m. 530 W. 300 N., Warsaw. Drivers: Rosemary Schmucker, 54, South SR 15, Warsaw ; and Jason B. Strup, 40, West 400 North, Columbia City. Schmucker was leaving the parking lot at Kohl’s and failed to see an Strup’s oncoming Jeep. Damages: up to $5,000
Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1:59 p.m. East Center Street near North Hickory Street. Drivers: Lolukuluri Raghupathi, 34, Williams Street, Westmount, Ill.; and Mary C. Secrist, 65, West 600 South, Mentone. Secrist was stopped in traffic when she was rear-ended by Raghupathi. Damages: up to $2,500
Wednesday, Aug. 7, 3:46 p.m. North Detroit and Center streets. Drivers: Pamela F. Messmore, 52, East Old Road 30, Pierceton; and Tracy L. Skipper, 43, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw. Messmore was stopped at the traffic light and was turned around talking to her children in the back seat. Skipper said she saw the light turn green and saw the brake lights of Messmore’s vehicle go off, so she thought traffic was beginning to move. Messmore collided into the rear of Skipper’s vehicle. Both drivers complained of head or neck pain. Damages: under $750
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:
Wednesday, Aug. 7, 7:30 p.m. South SR 25 south of West 200 South, Warsaw. Drivers; Brooke D. Slone, 23, North Sawgrass Lane, Leesburg; Jakeb G. Seymour, 18, Alpine Fir Lane, Elkhart; and Garlie H. Webb, 64, South Market Street, Burkett. Webb said he was slowing down in the roadway and had almost stopped when he was struck from behind by Seymour. Seymour’s vehicle was pushed into Webb’s vehicle when he was struck from behind by Slone, who said she tried to brake but her vehicle slid on the wet road. Damages: up to $5,000
