Local Man Protests For President’s Impeachment
Horns were blaring on SR 15 in downtown Warsaw Tuesday, but not in response to traffic. Men and women alike were honking in support of a protest happening along the road calling for the impeachment of President Obama.
The event, which began at 3 p.m., was organized by by Justin Risner of Warsaw. Risner said the inspiration to hold the protest came when he stumbled upon a group on Facebook called “Overpass for Obama’s Impeachment.”
According to Risner, who is now a member of the group, the page asked members to participate in a nationwide protest Tuesday to help raise awareness to promote a major change in our government – namely, the impeachment of the president.
Though the event does center around Obama’s impeachment, Risner said it’s not the only change he hopes to inspire.
Instead, Risner hoped the event would inspire others to stand up for their amendment rights that he believes are currently being violated. He noted a complete upheaval of congress is also necessary.
In addition, Risner and many other protestors, including Risner’s wife, Andrea, picketed against the NDAA Act, CISPA, Amnesty Act, Patriot Act, Monsanto Protection Act, secretly arming Syrian rebels and violations against the first, fifth, sixth and seventh amendments.
“I want every American to stand up for their rights. People are always asking ‘when are we going to stand up and doing something?’ We are trying to do that. This isn’t just about Obama. We are about to go to war with Russia and China and the government is covering it up. There has been a media black out about it. Russia and China are battle ready. I’m very concerned with the future of our government,” stated Risner.
Risner added that, though he would have liked to feature a speaker as well as a written petition at yesterday’s protest, time did not permit. However, he did assure this will not be the only protest that he holds.
While no date has been set for the next protest, he also hopes to have a march against the Monsanto Act, which effectively bans federal courts from interfering with the planting or sales of controversial genetically modified crops, despite the health issues they could result in.
