SYRACUSE – The Ken Jennings Putt for PSP benefit was a big success with 21 foursomes playing, a record for the event. The day included lunch and a cruise on the SS Lillypad in the afternoon. Jack Jennings and Jim Kroemer both spoke at the lunch and awards were given for the top two teams, men’s and women’s long drive, closest to the pin on 14, and longest putt on 9.
The winning team at 15-under-par was comprised of Stan Rensberger, Brian Rensberger, John Wedehase and Jason Miller.
Finishing second at 13-under-par was the team of Kevin Leininger, Vicky Leininger, David Leininger and Andrew Elbrecht.
This was the eighth year of the event. The money raised goes to Cure PSP, a national foundation dedicated to finding the causes and a cure for progressive supranuclear palsy, a rare brain disease that claimed the life of Ken Jennings, a former owner of the Frog Tavern, in 2009. Cheryl Kroemer, also of Syracuse, was diagnosed with PSP in 2009 and continues to battle the disease.
