Joann A. Huber
Joann A. Huber, 89, of Milford, Ind., and formerly of Goshen, Ind., passed away in the evening on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare, where she had been since 2010.
She was born in Goshen, Ind., on March 24, 1924, to Ellis and Joella (Mishler) Detwiler. She married Melvin G. Huber on Nov. 21, 1942, at the First Brethren Church parsonage. He preceded her in death.
A lifetime Goshen resident and a 1942 graduate of Goshen High School, Joann was a member of Jefferson Community Church.
She is survived by four children: Eric ‘Rick’ (Jan) Huber and Steve (Sandy) Huber, both of Goshen; Sandy (Michael) Vance, New Paris, Ind.; Barb (Bob) Hoke, Columbia City, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mabel Wortinger, Goshen; and a sister-in-law: Delores Detwiler, Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother: Ellis M. Detwiler.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Jefferson Community Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m Friday, Aug. 2, at the church. Pastor Ron Spyker will officiate. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Jefferson Community Church Helping Hands Ministry.
