Palestine Woman ‘Stable’ Following Industrial Accident
Cheryl Pitts of Palestine, the woman injured Wednesday in an industrial accident at Par-Kan in Silver Lake is this evening listed in stable condition at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
According to Pitts son, Mike McCord, Pitts remains in the ICU unit, but is improving and expected to recover.
Pitts was said to be crushed by approximately 3,000 pounds of “cans” that fell on her when a strap on a tow motor broke. The accident happened at Par-Kan just before 2 p.m. Wednesday. Pitts was airlifted from the scene.
Among other products, Par-Kan manufactures dumpsters and other containers used for refuse.
