He was born Sept. 17, 1959, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Edwin O. and Marie (Pastore) Smith.
He worked at the Eppley Airfield and Chesterfield Bar both in Omaha, Neb., also worked for Bay Exterminators, New York City.
Edwin was a New York sport fan of the Jets, Mets, Rangers and the Knicks.
He is survived by his mother: Marie Scognamillo, Pierceton; a son: Robert DeCola, Miami, Fla.; a brother: Thomas Smith, Pierceton; three nieces: Jessica Smith, Camille Smith and Haley Smith, all of Roanoke, Va.; and a nephew: Kyle Smith, Roanoke, Va.
He was preceded in death by his father: Edwin O. Smith; a brother: Dominick M. Smith; and a sister: Mary DeCola.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Monday in the church with Father Phil DeVolder, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
