Alan E. Leinbach
Alan E. Leinbach, 65, of North Webster, Ind., passed away at 1:35 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1947, in Goshen, Ind., to Maurice E. and Joyce C. (Yoder) Leinbach.
He graduated in 1965 from Millersburg High School in Millersburg, Ind., and in 1972 received his BA Degree from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Va. He also completed some post graduate studies from Eastern Mennonite Seminary and Grace Seminary.
He was married June 30, 1973, in Hagerstown, Md., to Helen K. Eby who survives and moved to the North Webster area in November 1989 from Maryland. He retired in June 2013 from Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake after 23 years of service. He was also formerly part of the pastoral team at North Pointe Fellowship in Warsaw.
He attended Family Worship Center at the Lighthouse in Goshen. He formerly attended North Pointe Fellowship in Warsaw, formerly coached Upward Basketball at the North Webster United Methodist Church, and was a board member for Mennonite Disaster Services.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Leinbach, North Webster; a daughter: Betsy (Jon Bontrager) Leinbach, Charlotte, N.C.; two sons: Andy Leinbach, Chicago, Ill.; and Mark (Marlea) Leinbach, Dundee, Ohio; five grandchildren; his mother: Joyce Leinbach, Markle, Ind.; a sister: Nancy Leinbach, Uniondale, Ind.; and a brother: Dennis (Joyce) Leinbach, Uniondale, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at United Methodist Church, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Rd., North Webster, with pastor Steve Leinbach of the Believers Fellowship Church in Goshen officiating. Burial will follow at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
