North Webster Public Library Announcements
Over 360 kids and teens have been participating in the Library’s Summer Reading Clubs this summer, logging over 4,000 hours of reading so far and earning lots of prizes for their efforts. Saturday, July 27, is the last day they can claim prizes, so be sure the kids log their reading hours and turn them in by that date.
On Wednesday, July 31, the library will host its Grand Finale Picnic to celebrate a summer of reading and all the kids’ efforts. Kids and their families are invited to bring a picnic supper and blanket and join the staff on the Library lawn for fun and prizes. Every Summer Reading Club participant who completes at least 5 hours of reading by Saturday, July 27, gets a free hotdog. There will be lots of prize drawings, so every child will go home with at least one prize. The Library will close early at 6 p.m. that day so the entire staff can celebrate with the kids.
If you missed the last Friends’ of the Library Book Sale, you can still cash in on some great book bargains during Dixie Days. The Friends of the Library will be selling lots of gently used adult and children’s books from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in the library’s north parking lot. Stop by and stock up on some great reading material. All proceeds go to support the library.
You’ll find even more great reads inside the library. New titles are arriving each week including best sellers by popular authors and large print and audio books as well. You can preview new books on the Library’s website at www.nweb.lib.in.us or stop in the library to browse through our new book display. If we don’t have a book you’re looking for, the staff can usually obtain a copy for you through the statewide Evergreen library system. Many of our summer residents qualify for a free North Webster Library card or can use their Evergreen cards from their home libraries. Summer is a great time for reading, so come in and check out a book.
