Nicholas H. ‘Nick’ Plank
Nicholas H. ‘Nick’ Plank, 72, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his residence from natural causes.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1940, to Herald and Gertrude (Bush) Plank and was a lifetime area resident. He married Linda Crawford on Dec. 24, 1991, in Nappanee. She survives.
He worked in maintenance at Heckaman Homes in Nappanee. He was a member of the Nappanee Flying Dutchman Model Airplane Club, and attended the Church of God in Nappanee. He was known for making gun stocks and playing the drums in the Court Gestures band.
He is survived by his wife; his sons: Nick (Sharon) Plank, Nappanee; Shawn Plank, Nappanee; his daughter: Sheila (Jewell) Losee, Nappanee; step-daughters: Jean Wilson and Jenifer Dunn, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Brenda (John) Selles, Goshen, Ind.; grandson: Lukas Plank, Nappanee; six step-grandchildren: Jeremy Wolfe, Joanna Wolfe, Rebecca Wilson, Holly Anderson, Brad Strasser and Justin Selles; seven step-great-grandchildren; and sisters: Mary Akens, Goshen; and Nancy.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 22, at the Church of God, 152 E. Centennial St., in Nappanee and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at the church. Pastor Justin Moore will officiate. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southern Hospice Care or to the church.
