Lakeland Kiwanis Host Charity Bicycle Tour
Lakeland Kiwanis Summer Sizzle Bicycle Tour will take place at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the North Webster Community Center, 301 N. Main St., in North Webster.
The event is a fundraiser for the North Webster Kiwanis Club. The mission is to change the world one child and one community at a time. The money raised by the event is used to help fund local children’s charities.
The Bicycle Tour includes two routes, a 10 mile route around the lakes area with rolling terrain, lots of beautiful views and up close encounters with turtles, birds and trees. The 50 mile route is more challenging, the hills are bigger but the views are just as breathtaking. Everyone gets to enjoy the Corn and Sausage Roast meal after the race. Come for the ride and stay for the great food!
There are two tours: the 50 mile tour registration opens at 7 a.m., and all 50 Mile riders must be on the road by 11 a.m. Century Riders are invited to ride this route twice to complete the 100 miles. the 10 mile tour rider registration opens at 11 a.m., and all 10 mile riders must be on the road by 2 p.m. If you have a family of four or more, there is a special rate avaialbe for families. Only riders who are pre-registered are guaranteed a t-shirt.
The participation fee for both the 10 and 50 mile bicycle tours is $25 per person. Families of four or more are eligible for the $60 participation rate.
