Heat Advisory For Northern Indiana
Kosciusko, Elkhart, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley, Huntington, Lagrange and Noble are among the Indiana counties under a Heat Advisory that will go into effect from noon Thursday to 8 p.m. Friday.
The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana is forecasting temperatures in the low 90s Thursday and Friday with heat indexes around 100 degrees both days. Lows will drop into the low 70s Thursday night to provide some nighttime relief.
Extreme temperatures can easily result in heat stroke, heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses if no precautions are taken. Those involved in outdoor work or activities should take frequent breaks and drink plenty of fluids.
A Heat Advisory means a period of hot temperatures will combine with high humidity. When possible, stay in air conditioning, stay out of the sun and check on elderly relatives and neighbors often.
