Syracuse Church Hosts Vacation Bible School
The Syracuse Church of God will host this year’s community-wide Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 29 through Friday, Aug. 2. All community children, ages 3 years old through fifth grade (during the 2012-2013 school year), are invited to attend. The church is located at 104 E. Washington St., Syracuse, one block north of the Syracuse Public Library.
This year’s theme will be “Kingdom Rock”. It will be a week-long adventure that empowers kids to stand strong as they experience God’s word in fun and unforgettable ways. At Kingdom Rock, kids will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork building games, make and dig into yummy treats, experience epic Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them to stand strong and make fun crafts that they’ll take home and enjoy with all summer long.
Kids will also learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with a Fanfare Finale—a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for this special time at 8 p.m.
Kids at Kingdom Rock will also join an international missions effort to share God’s love with children in India.
The community-wide VBS is sponsored by the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial Association. In addition to the Syracuse Church of God, participating churches include Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, and Calvary United Methodist Church.
Parents may pre-register their children for VBS by e-mailing their child’s name, birthdate and address to [email protected]. For more information about the Syracuse community-wide VBS, call the Syracuse Church of God at 574-457-2796.
